05/19/17: Construction on the Cosnino Road Pavement Project continued this week with the completion of Aggregate Base Course (ABC) installation and the start of paving operations, which are expected to be completed by early next week. This project remains ahead of schedule. 
  Project Schedule Information
 Fann Contracting, Inc. is working daily between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday with some weekend work possible. Flaggers, signage and other traffic control devices will be in place as needed to direct vehicles through the construction zone. The project is slated for completion by late June, weather permitting.

Motorists are encouraged to use routes other than Cosnino Road to access and exit Interstate 40 during construction.    

Project Overview

The Cosnino Road Pavement Project is necessary to improve and extend the service life of the deteriorated 1.3-mile stretch of Cosnino Road between Townsend-Winona Road and the U.S. Forest Service boundary located just north of the train tracks. Funded entirely by Prop. 403, this project includes pavement rehabilitation, installation of widened shoulders for multimodal use and limited localized drainage improvements along the roadway. Drainage and utility work for this project is underway fall with pavement rehabilitation slated to start next spring.
