We have early bird rates available to Coconino County-based for-profit businesses. The deadline is May 31.
The Coconino County Fair has evolved over the years, but remains a community-supported, family-oriented event through our sponsors, partners, and the youth and families that participate.
Did you know? The Coconino County Fair contributes $2.05 million and 27 full time equivalent jobs to the local economy. Read about this and more in the 5 Min. Guide: Coconino County Fair.
Are you interested in helping continue the tradition and sponsoring the Coconino County Fair? We'd love for you to get involved! Contact Liz Krug at (928) 679-8027 or email@example.com for sponsorship opportunities.
Each year the Coconino County Fair employs approximately 40 part time (temporary) employees. The following are positions hired for the fair: data entry, info booth, bathroom attendant, ice crew, entertainment coordinator, security, ticket sellers, admissions supervisor, ticket takers, and money room personnel.
The jobs will be posted in June so keep a look out on the county's Job Openings Page.
Each one of the buildings on the fairgrounds needs someone to oversee operations during the Coconino County Fair. This position receives a $250 stipend at the end of the Fair.
Judges are responsible for judging entries and decided who takes home any one of the numerous awards. Judges are vital to the fair process and do not have to be local to Flagstaff. If you are interested in judging, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Be sure to include your area of expertise and a brief resume or letter of interest and how you attained your expertise.
Throughout the fair each building has the option to host demonstrations. For example, in the past, Bashas has hosted a cupcake decorating demonstration in the Home Economics building. If you have a talent and a desire to share that with fairgoers, email us at email@example.com.
There are many volunteer positions available at the Coconino County Fair. The most popular volunteer position is a Building Sitter. Building Sitters are responsible for assisting the Building Superintendent in keeping the building looking tidy, answering questions, interacting with fairgoers, and ensuring the exhibits are not tampered with. We have a variety of buildings at the Fair, each displaying a different category of exhibits, so chances are there is one that parallels your personal interests.
The Fair also needs Judge Assistants. Judge Assistants are responsible for helping judges award ribbons, taking notes, etc. Most judging takes place on the days before the fair.
Receiving Aids are needed to assist Superintendents with the hard work that goes into accepting the public's exhibits. Receiving Day is different for each building, but the work generally involves helping exhibitors with their entry tags, displaying entries, and preparing the building for judging.
Volunteers are also used to help with the Volunteer Booth. The volunteer booth is set up at the main entrance of the fair and is used to check in volunteers and answer questions from fairgoers.
A hub of activity, the Information Booth sits just beyond the main entrance inside the fairgrounds and is home to stroller and wheelchair rentals, general information, lost and found, and much more.
There are Miscellaneous Positions that might be available if all other areas are filled or if a specific need arises during the course of the fair.
All volunteers are required to work a minimum of 4 hours. This can be completed in a 4 hour shift or in two 2 hour shifts. For every four hours, volunteers will receive two admission tickets, 1 parking pass, and a Volunteer Thank-you Bag. There is a maximum of 6 tickets per volunteer. [Example: If you work 12 hours, you will receive 6 tickets. If you work 16 hours, you will still receive 6 tickets.] If you need special accommodations in order to volunteer your time, please let us know.
