Join the communities and businesses of the Colorado Plateau as Coconino County hosts the Regional Economic Initiatives of the Colorado Plateau conference on March 7 and 8, 2019. This event brings together more than 200 business professionals affiliated with local, tribal and national industries within and around the Colorado Plateau region. This year’s conference theme is Engage Locally, Empower Regionally, Expand Globally.

This event was first started in 2016 when our region was faced with the impending closure of the Navajo Generating Station. At that time, the conference focused on identifying the needs of the region including these key questions: where we are now and where we would like to be? Since the first conference, we now know Navajo Generating Station will close in the not too distant future, likely in December 2019. We have been working on studying our region and activating initiatives to move forward after the closure. Using this year’s theme: “Engage Locally, Empower Locally, Expand Globally”, the conference aims to empower the Colorado Plateau economy by celebrating the successes of industry leaders and local entrepreneurs.

Businesses in the region need to find collaborative solutions to establish financial resiliency. Participants are encouraged to bring ideas and energy to this highly anticipated event. At the conference, you will have the opportunity to network and share ideas so our leaders can take actionable steps to better our economy to ensure actions encompass a shared vision for our communities.
