SR 89A Redesign Project Info
Community Equestrian Arena Closed thru April 2014

On Monday, September 23, the Arizona Department of Transportation began work on the State Route 89A realign project at the entrance of Fort Tuthill County Park. The initial phase of the project entails extensive tree removal in and around the park’s 89A entrances. Some of the wood is being re-purposed for flood mitigation and for firewood intended for the needy during the winter of 2014.

While the felled wood is transported and prepared for storage, the Community Equestrian Arena at Fort Tuthill County Park will be closed. As an alternative, equestrians are able to use the Posse Arena through Oct. 31, 2013. The Posse Arena is located in the northwest section of the park, across from the stables.  The Community Arena will reopen for the 2014 season on April 1.

Due to the presence of trucks, heavy equipment, and extensive construction park users are asked to exercise caution while at Fort Tuthill County Park.
