More Than A Meal Study (MTAM)

MTAM-social-4.jpg On March 2, 2015, Meals on Wheels America released a study comparing the experience and health outcomes of older adults in three categories: daily traditional meal recipients, once-weekly frozen recipients, and individuals on a Meals on Wheels waiting list. This study of over 600 seniors, funded by AARP Foundation and conducted by researchers at Brown University, implemented a groundbreaking approach to investigating the impact of meal service delivery on

homebound seniors receiving Meals on Wheels. The study’s findings validate what we’ve all known for decades anecdotally through firsthand experience: that Meals on Wheels does in fact deliver so much more than just a meal. Subaru Share the Love Campaign

Our Senior Nutrition and Meals on Wheels program has received funding from the 2015 - 2016 Subaru of America Share the Love campaign through our membership in the Meals On Wheels Association of America. Flagstaff Subaru ( employees have helped deliver meals to fight senior isolation and hunger. And, for every new Subaru vehicle sold during the campaign Subaru donated $250 to the purchaser’s choice of participating charities. By the end of this, the eighth “Share the Love” event, Subaru had donated $1,000 to Community Services Senior Nutrition program, and a total of $50 million to charity over the past six years – including delivery of one million meals nationwide to seniors in need.
