Once you notify the County of Schools office your interest in being a candidate and after you complete and submit your Statement of Interest: The Candidate filing period begins June 6, 2020 and ends 5:00 PM July 6, 2020 (note: June 6, 2020 is a Saturday and the Superintendents Office will not be open). Please call 928-679-8070 to make an appointment to turn in Nomination Petitions beginning the following Monday, June 8, 2020. 

Paperwork will be accepted by appointment only.

Statement of Interest

According to ARS 16-311 (H), candidates must file a Statement of Interest with the Office of the Coconino County School Superintendent before collecting nomination petition signatures. The Statement of Interest is included in the Governing Board Elections and Candidate Packet below.

**Candidates that collected petition signatures before August 27, 2019, must file a Statement of Interest by January 2, 2020 for those signatures to be accepted.


During the established candidate filing period, a candidate must file the following original documents with CCESA in order for his/her name to appear on the ballot:

  • Candidate Statement of Interest

  • Nomination Paper or Statement of Organization

  • Petition Signatures (number of required signatures vary by district)
