The Coconino County Health and Human Services (CCHHS) Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) Program conducts planning, training, drills, and exercises for health care facilities, community organizations, and local governments to ensure a rapid and coordinated response to public health threats and emergencies. These emergencies could include natural disasters (such as a forest fire), transportation accidents (such as a chemical spill due to a train derailment), epidemic (such as COVID-19), or a terrorist attack (such as an Anthrax tainted letter).
The PHEP Program works closely with the Coconino County Emergency Management team in preparing for and responding to, and recovering from emergencies. The close coordination before, during, and after an emergency ensures people and property are prioritized.
