Coconino County is excited to announce the position of Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to join our team. This position will serve to champion the importance and value of a diverse and inclusive county and lead the execution of a vision and strategy to create a culture for equity, diversity, and inclusion. The Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is a member of the County Manager’s Leadership Team, reporting to the Deputy County Manager and will perform work of considerable difficulty overseeing, coordinating and administering the County’s Diversity, Inclusion, Justice and Equity Initiative. The Director is a key contributor to the transformational leadership vision of Coconino County that supports a strong sense of belonging and deep trust. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership success in a comparable or larger complex organization, a deep understanding of diversity and inclusion challenges and opportunities, an experienced inclusion subject matter expert, a commitment to public service, and the ability to function in a fast-paced, high-demand and collegial environment.
