Crystal Becenti identifies as she, her, and as a Dine woman representing the Mexican People clan, the Salt People clan, the Cliff Dwellers clan, and the Meadow People clan. Originally from Indian Well, AZ and was born and raised in Window Rock, AZ. However, she learned and lived in Flagstaff, AZ for 15 years prior to moving to the Navajo Nation and returning to Flagstaff, AZ. 


Crystal earned her bachelor's in psychology in 2009 and master's in clinical psychology from Northern Arizona University (NAU) in 2011. She earned a master's in social work from Arizona State University in 2016, and she will be starting her doctoral program in combined counseling and school psychology at NAU this fall 2022.


Crystal holds a background with eight years of clinical experience involving behavioral health case management, crisis management, and inpatient, outpatient, and community based social work. She also has two years' experience of behavioral health programming with hospital, community based, and school healthy settings. These professional experiences gained skills with substance abuse, trauma informed and strength-based approaches, suicide prevention, counseling with the following topics and issues: depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, etc., and social emotional learning.
