Wildfire in Coconino County

Wildfire and post-wildfire flooding are the top public safety threats within Coconino County. Since 2010, the county has endured 9 major wildfires that have negatively impacted the region's environment, economics, public health, cultural values, and more. In December 2023,  the Coconino County Flood Control District and Coconino County Forest Restoration launched a series of work sessions with the Coconino County Board of Supervisors to examine the Wildfire Crisis in detail and identify opportunities for action.
