Crews substantially completed the County’s 2017 chip seal and pavement preservation operations this week by chip sealing more than 12 miles of paved County roads in the Pittman Valley area, which is located between Parks and Williams.
This year’s chip seal and pavement preservation projects were conducted along more than 48 miles of paved County roads. In addition to Pittman Valley, these areas included almost 13 miles of Lake Mary Road and more than 23 miles in the Munds Park area. One final pavement preservation project – a 1.25-inch asphalt overlay on Oak Drive and Crestview Drive in Munds Park – is scheduled for mid-July, weather permitting.
Chip sealing is used as a preventative measure to protect asphalt. A flyer with a map and information about the roads that will be chip sealed this year is available at www.coconino.az.gov/DocumentCenter/View/17084. For more information please visit www.coconino.az.gov/ChipSealProjects.
